SG Speed Gates – Pedestrian Access Control
SG speed gates provide pedestrian access control inside buildings. Their glass wings and sensor system work with an external access authorization system. The SG2, SG3 and SG5 models differ in housing design and reader integration options. Compare the models and select a configuration that fits your entrance area.
Choose Your SG Speed Gate Model

SG2
Geometric HousingThe SG2 features a clean, geometric housing that complements rectangular architectural elements. It is available with a 650 or 900 mm passage width and two wing heights.
Wing height: 905 / 1300 mm
Installation: indoors

SG3
Rounded FrontThe SG3 features a slim housing with a rounded front, making it suitable for interiors with softer architectural lines. It offers 650 and 900 mm passage widths and two wing heights.
Wing height: 905 / 1300 mm
Installation: indoors

SG5
Space for a Larger ReaderThe SG5 housing accommodates larger card readers and scanners. Reader integration must be specified according to the reader dimensions. Passage widths of 650 or 900 mm and two wing heights are available.
Wing height: 905 / 1300 mm
Installation: indoors

Product selection should also consider the number of lanes, traffic directions, reader mounting location and overall entrance area requirements. The AC/DC power supply is selected separately in accordance with the product documentation.
How to Select SG Speed Gates for Your Entrance
Indoor Applications
SG speed gates can be installed at entrances to offices, industrial facilities and restricted areas of public buildings. Integration with access control or ticketing systems enables passage authorization based on user permissions. The configuration is selected to meet the facility’s operational requirements.
Passage Width and Number of Lanes
Start with the available entrance width and the number of people passing through during peak hours. Lanes with 650 and 900 mm passage widths can be combined in a speed gate layout. Allow sufficient space for the housings and approach areas. Also consider pedestrian barriers for the entrance area.
Readers and Access Control Systems
Provide the manufacturer and model of the reader or controller. Control signals and feedback must be matched to the equipment installed at the facility. Reader dimensions, including cabling, help determine whether it can be integrated into the housing or requires separate mounting.
Architectural Integration
Compare housing shapes, wing heights and how the gates fit into a lobby or reception area. Finishes and available configurations can be specified based on the selected model and project requirements.
SG Model Documentation
Select a model datasheet and then the drawing that matches the required passage width and wing height. Use the documentation to plan the gate layout, installation and wiring.

What Are the Differences Between SG2, SG3 and SG5?
The models differ mainly in housing design and available space for readers. SG2 has a geometric design, SG3 features a rounded front, and SG5 can accommodate larger readers and scanners. Compare the installation dimensions of each configuration as well.
Can SG Speed Gates Be Arranged in Multiple Lanes?
Yes. Left, center and right modules can be used to build a multi-lane configuration. The number of modules and passage widths depend on the entrance layout. A dimensioned floor plan is helpful when preparing the configuration.
Are SG Speed Gates Compatible With Card and Ticket Readers?
The gates have control inputs for both directions and a feedback signal output. The connection method depends on the reader or controller and its signals. Specify the system model and authorization method in your inquiry so that reader integration and mounting can be determined.
Can SG Speed Gates Be Installed Outdoors?
The configurations described in this documentation are intended for indoor use. If the entrance is exposed to rain or low temperatures, provide details of the installation conditions. Product suitability must be evaluated against the specifications and conditions at the installation site.
What Information Is Needed for an SG Speed Gate Quotation?
Provide the facility type, entrance floor plan or dimensions, required number of lanes and traffic directions. Include the desired passage width, wing height and details of the reader or access control system. If you have not selected a model, we can help you choose one.
